I teach piano and inspire creativity. I have been teaching since 2005. I teach with the Faber Piano Adventures material, then I incorporate the Suzuki material, and from there we go into classical, ragtime, pop and beyond. We also explore how to be creative in your practice, and we look for ways to make it fun and enjoyable. A lot of my younger students like to create their own songs or improvise, and I encourage, assist and inspire them in their process.
All levels, ages, and styles. Classical, blues, jazz, rock, ragtime, new age, pop.
You can now take my online Music Theory Course at Warp Academy here.
In addition to piano lessons, I teach songwriting, music theory, and music production using Ableton Live. For those of you interested in electronic music production, I am an Ableton Live trainer, and I can show you how to use it effectively and efficiently.
I have a BA in Music Composition from the University of California Santa Barbara College of Creative Studies.
I teach piano out of my home near the Crest Theater in Shoreline, or I can travel to your house to teach if it is within my radius.
Twice a year we have a student concert with all of my students that wish to participate.
If you would like to take lessons from me, or if you would like more information, please send me an email from the contact page and I will return your email promptly. I can also provide references upon request.
In the meantime, have a look around my website, and listen to some of the music that I create when I am not teaching. Here’s a good place to start. Thanks for your interest.
